Biodegradable polymer hydrogel?based tissue adhesives: A review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Tissue-adhesive materials are emerging biomaterials with potential applications in wound healing patches, tissue sealants, and haemostat materials. Tissue adhesives based on synthetic polymers generally have good adhesion but not biodegradable. However, the long-term presence of non-biodegradable body can cause secondary harm to patient. An ideal adhesive should meet following requirements: adhesiveness, biodegradability, low cytotoxicity, minimal inflammatory response. Natural inherent biodegradation biocompatibility show great potentials biomedical engineering, development natural has become a hot topic science. This review systematically summarises latest progresses biodegradable polymers, such as chitosan, hyaluronic acid, alginate, gelatin, dextran, cellulose. Methods for preparing polymer summarised their advantages disadvantages discussed. Finally, trends future direction

Biodegradable polymer matrix nanocomposites for tissue engineering: A review
Nanocomposites have emerged in the last two decades as an efficient strategy to upgrade the structural and functional properties of synthetic polymers. Aliphatic polyesters as polylactide (PLA), poly(glycolides) (PGA), poly(3-caprolactone) (PCL) have attracted wide attention for their biodegradability and biocompatibility in the human body. A logic consequence has been the introduction of organ...
متن کاملPolymer Biodegradation and Biodegradable Polymers – a Review
Synthetic polymers are important in many branches of industry, for example in the packaging industry. However, they have an undesirable influence on the environment and cause problems with waste deposition and utilization. Thus, there is a tendency to substitute such polymers with polymers that undergo biodegradable processes. Increasing interest in applying polymers based on natural materials ...
متن کاملBiodegradable Polymer Membranes Applied in Guided Bone/Tissue Regeneration: A Review
Polymer membranes have been widely used in guided tissue regeneration (GTR) and guided bone regeneration (GBR). In this review, various commercially available membranes are described. Much attention is paid to the recent development of biodegradable polymers applied in GTR and GBR, and the important issues of biodegradable polymeric membranes, including their classification, latest experimental...
متن کاملGecko-InspIred polymer AdhesIves
The discovery of the gecko’s remarkable foot adhesion has provided a riddle for engineers and scientists to solve: how can an adhesive surface be selectively sticky, directional, remain clean, and work on almost any material? Gecko feet stick to almost anything, in almost any condition (including underwater and in space), but do not stick unintentionally, do not stick to dirt, and enable the ge...
متن کاملFunctionalized synthetic biodegradable polymer scaffolds for tissue engineering.
Scaffolds (artificial ECMs) play a pivotal role in the process of regenerating tissues in 3D. Biodegradable synthetic polymers are the most widely used scaffolding materials. However, synthetic polymers usually lack the biological cues found in the natural extracellular matrix. Significant efforts have been made to synthesize biodegradable polymers with functional groups that are used to couple...
